Cover of Bizenghast Book 6, which is due out this summer! Done with watercolor and inks. I originally did another cover long ago for this book, but it was just missing something, so I did this one, and it turned out just right! I just wish the colors had scanned better...there's a pretty blend of greens, grays and blues in the original that my scanner just couldn't pick up. Oh well! Book 6 has been the hardest book of all for me to do. A lot of important things happen in it, and it was difficult to write. But I think you'll like it when you read it! Now to start work on Book 7! Credits to Leonardo da Vinci for his wing design. CommentsBeautiful! The composition with wings belonging to both the character and the background-blueprints -so smart! Her clockwork torso, so elaborate, and her detached arms that I noticed only later... I also like her eyes, the collar and the goggles. The colours drowned me in Victorian steampunk. Great work!
(So unfair, isn't one talent enough? -I ADOOORE your necklaces, you know ^_~ ) -- If there's something worse than the AGONY OF FEELING NOTHING, tell me. Yo!
BZG is on book SIX?! >o>;;;; Wait... You're almost doing two books every year and a half. Well damn. Skillz. Now I'm behind. It's been awhile since I was at a bookstore in general though. I wonder if I can still check out vols 1 & 2 at the TPOP website. I always liked your cover work ^^. Both the style and themes. I wish your whole book looked like this but alas it's b&w. I've only ever read the first few pages way back when it was up online and I remember being kinda putoff by how your inks looked so different (stylistically) from your covers. You'd only just started out so I know that's probably completely different now. You do seem more comfy with watercolors. Now, your backgrounds and panels with minimal tones or no tones were A+. It'd probabaly take years to finish one volume if you did them all like the covers though XD;. Are you still using quills to ink? I don't know how you do it IF you do. I can't even write well with a quill. I feel bad because I can't even be like, "I'm so excited for volume 6!", because I haven't read the others! Also it's GOOD to see someone still hanging in there with the comic industry all eff'ed up right now. I haven't taken the leap and submitted anywhere... I should probably just TRY... Hope all is well ^^! |
