This is a very special piece I made, called Cloth of Gold, created especially for the charity auction at this year's A-Kon in Dallas.
IT IS NOT FOR SALE! Please do not ask for a duplicate or "one like it" to be made! It was made uniquely for the auction! ABOUT THIS PIECE: It is made from several unique findings, a pair of painted golden butterfly wings made from feathers, and an antique watch face. The sparklies on the neckband are genuine swarovski crystal. In back is a silver chain and clasp to fit all sizes. A-Kon's charity auction this year benefits Family Place, a local shelter for battered or abused women and children, and all domestic violence victims. Guests of the convention are often asked to donate something to the auction to raise money for charity, and this year I decided to make something very special. Cloth of Gold was made to remind people who have been abused or neglected that there is always somewhere they can turn, and always people like the volunteers at Family Place, who have hearts of gold and selflessly donate their time and energy to helping others. |
