My newest sketchbook mod. I do a new cover for each of my sketchbooks, not only because it's neat, but because I literally have SHELVES of sketchbooks, dozens and dozens of them, and it's impossible to tell which contain what drawings unless I do covers for them, to remind me of the general contents.
This sketchbook I did using an old framing magazine that my parents had laying around. I cut out a bunch of neat pictures of frames, then I cut out pictures of people and things and inserted them into the frames. It came out pretty cool! What's funny is I often put my iPod down on top of my sketchbook on my table, then I can't FIND it, because my iPod has a custom steampunk skin that blends right into the book cover!
This cover is unusual because I actually did it right-side up, whereas I usually do them upside down, because I draw in the books upside down (I draw left-handed and the spiral binding gets in my way otherwise). But although the cover is modded right-side up, the art inside is still upside down
