Artist's Comments

One of the original pieces I did for the Harper Collins manga-ka book. I was inspired by the coloring done in those Prince Valiant cartoons you see in the Sunday comics...that really simple color scheme over a technical pen and ink drawing. I thought that was neat and decided to experiment with it here.

I love your mermaids. This is like some of the older Prince Valiant illustrations, especially in color. Like when they would just give Foster a whooooole page in the Sundays and say "go at it, dude".
