EDIT: A lot of ppl seem to want this colored. I'm not going to because it's interior book art so it's supposed to be black and white, but if YOU want to color it then go nuts, and send me a link when you're done! :)

OK, is anyone else sick of opening a comic and being confronted with a parade of stick figures? Because that's what I see when I read most comics. Female figures that are blatantly labelled as beautiful and they're beyond being unrealistically thin...they're just sick.

I'm so sick of mangas that have their most beautiful characters being stick figures. That's why, when I was designing Nareesha (who is characterized in the book as being "the beautiful woman in the world") for book two of Bizenghast, I said HEY, let's make her super-full figured!

I'm glad some of my cosplay friends will dress as Nareesha. I made her to be a beautiful character that larger cosplay gals could cosplay with confidence. You CANNOT tell a cosplayer she's too fat to be Nareesha, because Nareesha is both really BIG and really HOT. BOO freakin YAH.

*sucker punch!*

She's beautiful, and I agree: full-figured women can be lovely. Not all are, just as not all skinny women are beautiful. Personally, it's the attitude that pulls off either look. (And by the way? I LOVE Bizenghast.) Nice job; can I seriously have her dress?

Very nice work! She's gorgeous and those hips are exquisite. It's about time we saw some big curvy women as fantasy heroines.

You're a very talented artist, but I have to say, I don't consider the woman you just drew fat. I would consider her more along the lines of healthy. I really only consider someone fat if it's obvious that it's so much to the point where it's unhealthy.

I guess that's beyond the point though, this is a beautifully drawn picture! Also, it's good for young women to hear what you're preaching. Unrealistic views of beauty is just unhealthy and disappointing in the end.
