This cover was rejected for volume 2 of Bizenghast. It's OK I guess, but doesn't really represent what I'm going for with the series. The final version is better. :) This is a watercolor painting, approx. 12 hours.

EDIT: In the end, Tokyopop decided to go with this cover after all, since it's now on the book. They is FICKLE!

oooo i likes! the fall scen with her paleness and white dress being totally offset is just gorgeous! if this one was rejected can't WAIT to see what is chosen! (AND waiting on bizenghast 2 as well ;P )

i guess it does look a bit too bright and normal-looking for bzg. ^^
how can you possibly have the patience to make all of those little leaves in watercolor?</>
i'd freak out with just a pencil. D:

Ah, I remember seeing this on the TP website. Well, I thought it was nice anyway. The watercolours and the colours choosen came out really nice and...hm, remindful of candy. Yummy, fruity candy 'u'
