The latest little princess dress commission, just finished up this last week. The theme/inspiration for this piece was classic Snow White crossed with an eastern european folkloric dress design. I used the Disney palette of red, yellow and blue and combined it with a multi-patterned and flower-trimmed look to give it a more classical, old-world feel. I think this is my favorite yet!
This was taken before I added the bows at the bottom of the ruffle lines on the red overskirt, but they're on there now, made of the same blue and off-white china pattern fabric that the front of the bodice has. I just LOVE that fabric, I found it on the clearance table for six bucks a yard!
You are like Tiana's mama!!! making fairytale dresses for little girls! these are amazing!!! Someone needs to hurry up and discover your talents so you can make costumes for the big screen. then I can watch them and say "I KNOW HER" (not "know" know but just know who you are. and be all hipster about it "I knew her before she got famous")
This is gorgeous, a true fairy tale dress that's original yet very classic. Beautiful work, I'm sure there's a very happy little girl out there who gets to wear this. I just love the Germanic/Russian flavor of it, very Grimm even while running with the Disney palette. Just stunning Marty.
