One of the chapter openers from Bizenghast, volume two. Since the story revolves around apples for a time, I figured Eve in the garden would be a good metaphor. Plus, you know, snakes. SNAKES!
I really love doing these kinds of drawings as opposed to my normal comic book style. I'm talking with my editor now about a new book for which I'd like to do this kind of art style all the way through the book.
Yay, more of the chapter cards!!! You know, I really love the chapter cards, I think they are one of my favorite parts of the Bizenghast. Especially the ones for "The Sickness" and for "The Gilded Cage," though I really like this one a lot too! The cards remind me a little of those Victorian postcards. Do you plan on selling the chapters cards as a card set after all the books are done? That would be cool.
I agree that you should do another book just in this style, it's so much fun to look at, so beautiful and detailed, and it sort of has a "fairy tale" quality to it, as well as a feeling of mystery.
Amazing detail and I love Eve's expression and her hair.

I don't have a problem with canon, non-canon, straight, gay or any other of that nonsense. I have a problem with incest but as long as it isn't real life & it is drawn well I will pretend that they're not related for the sake of a job well done. Love wins
I think that would work a lot better- These kinda ink drawings from you are faar more expressionative (if that's even a word..). Stunning piece of art btw! ^^
I *adore* your chapter openers! They really have such a refreshing feeling to them. Kind of antique and mystique.~ If you end up doing a whole book in this style, I'll be running to my local bookstore in a hurry!
Lovely idea with Eve in the garden. This came out beautiful. And snakes.. XD *laughs-snorts at memory of the amazing guide to snakes comic*
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
