One of the chapter openers from Bizenghast, volume two. Since the story revolves around apples for a time, I figured Eve in the garden would be a good metaphor.

I agree that you should do another book just in this style, it's so much fun to look at, so beautiful and detailed, and it sort of has a "fairy tale" quality to it, as well as a feeling of mystery.
