Hey snakies, sorry there were no Christmas doodles this month, but was on holiday and wasn't around to do them with me. PERHAPS she can be persuaded to do a January run of doodles! WE SHALL SEE.

In the meantime, I am up to my FACE in Bizenghast work for the last volume, as well as up to my neck in cuddly wuddly scarves of an Edaniel persuasion. I'm also meaning to go see the Princess and the Frog with , because apparently everyone thinks of me when they see the character Lottie.

I'd like to point out that my personal Disney princess looks an awful lot LIKE Lottie, by strange coincidence:






And by a weirder coincidence, I got my haircut that way again recently! I didn't even know who Lottie was or that she had short hair! is that weird or what?

Well I'm hard at work, making and packaging Edaniel scarves in time for Christmas! The international ones have all been shipped, so now are the domestics. In the meantime, my cats are trying very, VERY hard to contribute to each scarf by shedding on it. I'm inspecting them each under a bright light and removing any cat hair before packaging, but if you happen to get one or two little cat hairs on your scarf, that's just Ming and Severus' way of saying Merry Christmas. Apparently knocking over the christmas tree is ALSo their way of celebrating...Kev and Paul brought home a tree for me last night and I've only had time to trim some of the branches and water it. The ornaments are still in the box and the cats are getting impatient, as breaking ornaments is something they look forward to all year.

It's been snowing since 5 am! The weatherman says it will snow all day and night until 9 am tomorrow and we'll get about a foot and a half of snow. There's so much snow you can't see the streets or the sidewalks! I baked some cookies to take to my friends at the post office today...it must be boring sitting in an empty post office all day, since no one's out at all! I think as soon as the boys are up and about, they're going to come over here and bother me until I make more cookies...they want almond cookies and sugar cookies AND chocolate chip cookies! Whew!

Right now my knitted Edaniel hat and boots are drying in the hall and I have to get back to making scarves. If it's snowing where you are, bundle up and don't catch a cold!

RULES

Entrants must write a story, titled Big Zen Hats: The Final Hatting that takes place in the Bizenghast world and features characters of Bizenghast, at any time before, during or after the series timeline. No Mary Sues, crossovers or self-insertion. However, other M. Alice characters are allowed (Bizniz Snake, Cupcake, etc.) There is no limit to how long or short the entry must be.

Stories will be based on grammar, cohesiveness, imagination and the ability to make me laugh until Chicken in a Biskit crumbs fly out my nose.

RESTRICTIONS
Entrants must be aged 18 or older, OR must have parental permission to enter the contest and disclose their likeness and first name for use in the book if they are chosen as winners. Last names will not be used and entrant location, photo or personal information will not be disclosed to anyone but myself.

Entrants may enter as many times as they like.

Entries must be posted to DeviantArt and a link must be sent to me via Note, with the subject line "BIG ZEN HATS ENTRY". Entries not sent via Note by the deadline will not be considered.

Entries must be rated PG-13 at the most...in other words, acceptable for a child of thirteen to read. No nudity, sexual content, graphic language or graphic violence (cartoon violence is acceptable).

COMICS ARE ALSO ACCEPTABLE INSTEAD OF SHORT STORIES! However no poetry, stream-of-consciousness or single images will be accepted. It must be a full story with beginning, middle and end, whether in text or in comic format. Rhyming dialogue is allowed as long as there is a story narrative, not simply a straight poem.


DEADLINE

January 5th, 2010, at MIDNIGHT, EASTERN STANDARD TIME. No entries will be accepted after midnight, NO EXCEPTIONS, so get them in early!

PRIZES

TWO (2) First prize winners will be chosen to appear in the final volume of Bizenghast as Human Agents of a Guild of my choosing, and receive free copies of book 7 upon its release.
