Seriously snakies, stop sending me spam notes about how your friend is desperately poor and needs donations or commissions. This is the third one I've gotten this week. I don't care if I happened to be on your friends list and you just mass-mailed everyone, that's no excuse. I'm not a bottomless money pit waiting to be tapped for delishus snakeybucks. I have my own money woes to unwoe with said Marty Funbucks!

Also, I noticed a trend of people begging for commissions and donations when they do not, in fact, already work a job. I know working the home fashions department at Sears isn't as easy or glamorous as being a commissioned artist, but everyone needs a summer job. I worked a thousand crappy part-time jobs when I was a wee snake. It's just something you do, and it pays WAY MORE than commissions, hands-down. If you're fifteen or older, you can work in most states. I worked at 15 in a calzone shop across from my high school, so I know.

Plus if you work at Starbucks or somewhere, you get free health insurance. Very important.

Bottom line: stop asking me for money, cuz I gots debts of my own! Get out there and get a second job! God knows I've worked two jobs before. I worked a second job the first two years of writing Bizenghast! Yes, I worked for a big expensive publishing company full-time AND I worked a second job. AND lived at home to save money for an apartment. Astounding.

WORK IT, SNAKIES! WORK IS GOOD FOR YOU! IT'S GOOD FOR ME TOO!
